Which calendars work with Done Cal?
In device-calendar mode, Done Cal shows calendars already available through Apple Calendar on your iPhone or iPad, including iCloud, Google, Exchange and CalDAV accounts. Choose calendars individually, save useful groups, and give them clearer names or colours inside Done Cal. Settings also provides the separate Done Cal account-calendar route for Google Calendar, Outlook and Microsoft 365; account and device-calendar progress remain separate.
Does checking off an event change the original?
No. Each occurrence has a separate completion record. Checkmarks, undo and postponement inside device-calendar mode leave the source event unchanged. Creating or editing an event can change its source calendar.
What happens to recurring events?
Each occurrence has its own checkmark. Completing Monday’s event does not complete the next occurrence. Postponing one occurrence inside Done Cal does not move the recurring series.
Do early or late checkmarks still count?
Yes. Every completed eligible event counts equally. “On time” means from its scheduled start until five minutes after its end. The optional timing breakdown changes the display, not your completion total.
Does Focus automatically check off an event?
No. Focus is optional and included in Pro. When an interval ends, you choose what happens next: complete the event, extend, take a break, run another interval or finish without checking it off.
Is Done Cal free?
The app provides a read-only preview. Checking off your own events requires Core or an active Pro subscription. Core is a one-time purchase; Pro is a monthly or annual subscription that includes Core access while active. Download availability and live prices are confirmed in the App Store.
Do I need to buy Core before Pro?
No. An active Pro subscription includes Core access. If you separately purchase Core, that permanent unlock remains when Pro ends, unless the Core purchase is refunded or revoked.
Is there a free trial?
If you’re eligible, Apple shows the offer, duration and full renewal price before you buy. Trials depend on your account and the selected Pro plan.
What happens when Pro ends?
Pro features stop when access expires. A separate Core purchase remains. Ending Pro does not erase your calendar or Done Cal data. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
Can I use Done Cal on Android or in my browser?
The new product is designed for iPhone and iPad on iOS/iPadOS 17 or later, with Pro widgets, Live Activities and an Apple Watch companion on watchOS 10 or later. The separate browser beta and account calendar are available by invitation, but they do not share device-calendar completion or Progress data yet. Android is not currently offered.
Which Focus tools are included with Pro?
Choose Pomodoro with 25/5, 50/10, 90/15 or custom focus and break lengths, or use One task at a time to work through pending items on a clear screen. A Focus session can be attached to an event or task, or run on its own. Finishing a timer never checks work off without your choice.
Can Progress use work I already created?
Yes. Link a recurring task to a weekly target or a task with subtasks to a Subtask progress card. Other cards record wins, Focus time or numbers you enter.
Can I change how progress appears?
Yes. Choose a segmented bar or a layered bar showing planned and completed work. Settings also lets you choose which visible calendars contribute to the Day Signal.
Can I manage tasks and lists too?
Yes. Create and schedule tasks, organise them into lists, add subtasks, and check off each step. With Pro, subtasks can also update Progress cards.
Can I track goals as well as daily tasks?
Yes. With Pro, build a dashboard with weekly targets, subtask progress, wins, focus time and numbers you want to track. Recurring tasks can update linked weekly targets.
Will my progress carry between the app and browser?
Checkmarks and Progress are currently separate between device calendars and the Done Cal account calendar. See the calendar connection guide for details.
Will Progress lock change my other calendar apps?
No. Progress lock protects scheduling actions inside Done Cal. Apple Calendar and other calendar apps can still make their own changes.
